Writing Groups 2025/2026.
Once again in 2025/26 I will be running three writing groups at the Open Door in Lewes, East Sussex. Last year I changed the format, capping the number of participants to five writers in each group, and this has proved a very positive change. The smaller number allows a much deeper conversation about our writing practices month to month, and also means each writer can submit work (up to 5000 words) every month. Three writers’ submissions are workshopped by the group each month (on rotation), while the remaining two writers submit to me only. The current participants have told me this opportunity to submit every month has really helped them keep on track with their projects.
This year I am running the groups from September through May, with no sessions in the month of December. There will be 8 sessions in total. Each group meets once a month and the session runs from 10 am to 2 pm.
I am now opening registration for the 2025/26 groups. These will take place on the following dates. As places tend to go fast, many taken up by returning writers, I would recommend you get in touch soon, should you be interested.
The dates for the 25/26 Groups are:
Third Saturday of the month: Sept 20, Oct 18, Nov 22, Jan 24, Feb 21, Mar 21, Apr 18, May 23.
Fourth Saturday of the month: Sept 27, Oct 25, Nov 29, Jan 31, Feb 28, Mar 28, April 25, May 30
Third Wednesday of the month: Sep 24, Oct 22, Nov 26, Jan 28, Feb 25, Mar 25, April 22, May 27
The total fee for the year (8 meetings) is £1000.
